About This Project

Murphy Brothers Contracting transformed an existing home along the shores of Long Island Sound in Rye, New York, into a waterfront residence that celebrates its remarkable natural setting. Working alongside architect Rex Gedney of Crozier Gedney Architects, our team renovated the home to embrace its views while preserving the character and craftsmanship of its original custom teak millwork.

The renovation was built for comfort, flexibility, and connection to the landscape. A dramatic, column-free cantilevered second-floor balcony captures uninterrupted views of the Sound, while multiple heating and cooling zones, an interior elevator that allows the owners to age in place in luxury, and an outdoor chef’s kitchen bring modern comfort and effortless entertaining to the home.
