Landscape Design
Originally built in the late 1890’s, this Gambrel Shingle Style residence is located on just over an acre of land surrounded by water on three sides. The renovation/ addition clearly complements the scale and vintage of the existing home, creating a seamless and unified addition on the exterior while respecting the interior detail through meticulous refurbishing and replicating. The architect designed a secondary entry that allows direct access from an existing accessory garage, creating vertical circulation with the design of a stair and elevator tower. The redesign also maximizes the views from the family room/ kitchen area looking out to Long Island Sound, with floor-to-ceiling glass and minimal structure at the corners of the octagon allowing for maximum horizontal spans of glass.
