Dear Murphy Brothers:
I would like to thank you for the terrific job you did for me. The plain truth is that your company provides superior service. I wish I had called you guys years ago, as we struggled through years of renovations, but I always thought your prices would be too high for my budget. The reality of the situation is that due to your efficiency and expertise, you are the best value around !!!!!
The nature of my job was very small compared to those you completed for my family and friends. In spite of this, I felt like a valued customer. Mr. Artie Bruno spent 3 hours on one visit locating the source of my leaking roof. He and Mr. Mitch Mitchell doused every possible access point with a hose (not only the roof, but the adjacent exterior walls and windows as well) until the weak point was located. From then on Mr. Mitchell took over, and did a great job. He always arrived early and was entirely professional. His workmanship for my job was very high caliber. Mitch gave me options for finishing details. He wanted to make sure that I was completely satisfied with the job. Each and every day Mitch worked in and around my house, he isolated the work area from the rest of the kitchen with plastic. At the end of each day he did a very thorough clean-up.
Thank you Artie Bruno and Mitch Mitchell. After many unsatisfactory experiences with other companies over the years, I can truly say that Murphy Brothers is the best.
Regards,
Mrs. J.K.

Dear Artie,
At this time I would like to extend my thanks to your company for a job very well done! Mitch was always extremely punctual, competent, and hard working. As a result, my windows were replaced in much less time than I had originally anticipated. In addition, I was pleasantly shocked at how meticulous he was in cleaning up after each and every window he installed. This was of particular importance to me, since I have a very active 18-month-old son. Moreover, I greatly appreciated Mitch's patience with all of my questions and concerns.
Thank you for doing a great job with my replacement windows.
Sincerely,
E.M.F.

Dear Vincent,
Our first season with the New Bathhouse has just ended. What a pleasure it was to be in the new building. Next week will mark the 1st anniversary of the demolition of the old bathhouse. I do not think, deep down, that any member of the committee truly believed Murphy Brothers Contracting would be able to pull off this project from demolition to CO in eight months.
As a Club Manager for over 18 years, I have worked with many contractors on many different projects. Murphy Brothers Contracting, and you personally as the Project Manager have been the most professional, organized and honest group I have ever worked with.
Early on in the project I was impressed by Murphy Brothers laying out all the hurdles that would have to be met in order to make our schedule. Never once was anything promised that wasn't delivered. Your adherence to our budget, the options investigated for each change that was needed, and the cleanliness of the work area showed a level of expertise and pride that is lacking in many of your competitors.
Sincerely,

Dear Sean,
Please have anyone call us, night or day, for a most positive and candid reference. You did an excellent job building our fourth bedroom and bath, and extra family room.
As you know, we came to you after a terrible experience with one of your large, unnamed competitors in the area. We reluctantly dismissed them and lost a $3,600.00 deposit because they kept delaying work and escalating the total bill at every turn. With our third baby on the way, we really wanted the work done on time and within budget. You knew the tough position we were in, and you didn't take advantage of us.
You were thoughtful in finding ways to keep the construction costs down, such as keeping the large concrete rear porch as a surface to build on instead of removing it. As in so many jobs, our project had a way of expanding into nearby rooms as the job went on, and you took these changes in stride instead of exacting a severe premium. Throughout your work, the job site was kept very clean so that we had some sense of order in an otherwise chaotic house.
Our 1928 built house gave you, and us, many surprises along the way, and your crew did a great job adapting. The new wing of the house blends in perfectly with the original construction in every detail.
Most of all, we were under the gun and you folks treated us fairly. It goes without saying that the workmanship was excellent, involving a new bedroom, downstairs playroom, half bath, and kitchen remodel.
One additional note. We have had a number of follow up questions, and some minor jobs here and there that have come up. In each case, we never get the feeling that we're "forgotten clients" just because the question or job is a small one. You folks should get Mike to change his name to Murphy, he did such a great job supervising our projects.
The work you did is now two years old, so we've had plenty of time to "test drive" it. Everything is perfect. Should you show this letter to a prospective customer, please point out that we are not your relatives - we are just very happy customers.
Warmest regards,
B. and C.F.

Artie Bruno,
I had never properly thanked you for halting construction on the renovation project as to accommodate security problems at our home. I appreciate your efforts with respect to such and hope that inconvenience suffered by you was minimal.
As excited as I am to move out of the Guest Room, the conclusion of the project will no doubt signify the departure of the laborers on the site. This project began in the midst of chaos which was minimized only by their eagerness to be of assistance.
With tremendous respect for the time consuming and exhausting work that they are doing on the Master Bedroom, they have never refused a request of mine to undertake a project elsewhere in the home. They have replace doorknobs, locks, shower fixtures, put together toys and made the house safe for my children by fixing gates and installing window latches. I cannot express to you my appreciation for their kindness. They are polite, hardworking, efficient and a tremendously positive credit to Murphy Brothers.
Thank you for all you have done to keep this project running smoothly.
Very Sincerely,
L.K.

Dear Mike Bruno,
As an architect for this project, I would like to express my gratitude for work done very well. Your performance was flawless. The Project ran smoothly and on schedule; you scheduled all trades well and saw to it that all field conditions were resolved with the architect and client promptly. Best projects are the ones where there is good three-way cooperation between client, architect and general contractor. This was such a project. There are projects that an architect doesn't look forward to visits periodically, where contractor generated problems are order of the day. When a project like this comes around, it makes it a joy for the architect to conduct site visits. I have looked forward to my weekly site visits, to see how clients dream and my design come to life efficiently and in the best workmanship. It was a complex project consisting of many smaller masses rather than one big addition, with many technical difficulties. You handled field conditions well, coordinated closely with the architect and/or client. You chose fine subs, workmanship on all project systems was very good and the project was on schedule from start to finish. There was a two week delay, no fault of yours and you managed to make up time lost by waiting for the correct survey.
End result is happy clients and architect. I hope we have an opportunity to work together on my future projects.
My thanks and admiration,
H.M., AIA

I live around the corner from the house you have constructed in New Rochelle. I just want to compliment your staff working on this project for doing what seems to be a great job with the house, but more particularly, from a neighborhood point of view, for keeping the site so clean and neat during the whole building process. Right from the beginning through today, your man on the job has done a wonderful job keeping the site in such a neat condition. Unlike other contractors in our area who seem to treat construction sites as junk heaps, you and your man on the job respect the neighborhood and the neighbors by paying close attention to the thing we see the most during the construction phase, the site, and keeping materials neatly piled, clean, fenced and the like. I compliment you and your man on the job and if you ever need an unsolicited reference with reference to how you manage a construction site, I'd be happy to supply it.

Usually as a construction project comes to a close, neighbors have had enough and are relieved to see the contractors go. In this case, feelings are mixed. Your project manager Mitch has become part of the neighborhood and will be missed. We live across the street from the site and have lived with the construction noise, trucks, etc. for the past year. The presence of Mitch and the way he managed the project, kept the site clean, and communicated with all of us made the difference in our experience. We have four young children and there are many other children on the block - we as parents were appreciative that there was someone so responsible on the site. Mitch was always a friendly and welcome presence.
On top of his community relations skills, it seems to me, he also managed a top notch project. We not only look at a beautiful house every time we step out the front door, but we and the entire neighborhood benefit from such a beautiful renovation.

Dear Mr. Murphy,
Both my wife and I thank you for the manner in which you serviced our needs.
We especially want to let you know about the professionalism demonstrated by Artie Bruno, our project manager. Artie was always courteous, available and responsive to our requests and needs. Our work schedule prevented us from being available except for early mornings, late evenings or weekends. Artie was always there for us at these times. His surveillance of the subcontractors resulted in the high quality work that we expected and received. Artie was appropriately apologetic about unexpected delays that were beyond his control.
We want you to know that you are fortunate to have such a person representing you.

Dear Sean and Chris:
It is with great pleasure and some surprise that I am writing to let you know how happy I am with the end result of our renovation, particularly the kitchen. Credit for the success of our entire undertaking belongs to Vinny Hackett, who not only is a gifted carpenter, but also is an exceptional manager both of his employees and of his clients. He turned what could have been a nightmare for me into an exciting and extremely educational experience, handling each complex aspect of the project with finesse. I am most appreciative of the efforts he made to help make the daily barrage of decisions easier for me. For example, when I was unable to decide on a stain for my freshly sanded floors, he stayed late to prepare large samples of additional colors. As a result of the extra time he spent, I now have beautiful floors that I love. He also worked many Saturdays just to ensure that each small detail met his quality standards.
For years I have been hearing horror stories about home renovations projects gone amuck. I am so relieved that mine was the exception. I now can boast that my project was completed on time and more of less on budget by a team of craftsmen who earned both my respect and my immense gratitude. Please let everyone on the team know how much my husband and I appreciated their professionalism, their skill, and their hard work.
Sincerely,
E.N.

Dear Sean and Chris,
Now that our job is officially complete, we just wanted to express our gratitude for a well organized, professional, downright pleasant renovation experience.
Everyone that we dealt with from Murphy Brothers was hard-working and polite. Artie Bruno did an amazing job of keeping track of all the paperwork and no doubt deserves a great deal of behind-the-scenes credit. However, Joe Zito was the person we worked with day in and day out, and we can't say enough nice things about him.
Here's what we like about Joe Zito. He never makes us feel like any question is stupid, any detail is insignificant or any request is a hassle. We consider ourselves perfectionists; he is more so. We are not details people; he certainly is. (There's nothing more reassuring than a contractor who is three steps ahead of you rather than, as so many are, three steps behind.) When, on that rare occasion, Joe doesn't have an answer, he is not afraid to say so; and then he'll do whatever it takes to get the answer. He's a good guy who seems to care genuinely about making the clients happy. Of course, Joe Zito gives you guys the credit for training him well and keeping very high standards. We believe that. We also give you credit for being good judges of character.
Don't expect this note to end with any kind of fond farewell. Once you're become accustomed to "the Murphy Brothers way" it's hard to go back. We look forward to a continuing relationship with you. Thanks again - for helping us turn our house into a home.
Sincerely,
J. and M.C.

Dear Chris,
Thank you so much for arranging for Joe Zito to handle the recent renovations to our house. Joe was extremely professional, attentive to every detail and considerate of our needs while living through the construction. We know we received top notch work from Joe, Mitch, and Mike. The finished product is beautiful. The moldings look perfect as do the new fireplaces and front door. Also, the new doorway and closet in the bedroom work perfectly and give the extra space needed. We couldn't be any happier.
We would like to give Joe our highest recommendation. Not only did he get the work done promptly and well, he did it always with an eye on our needs. It was a pleasure having Joe and all the other men in our house. (That is saying a lot since they were here mostly at the dinner hour which as you know is always chaotic.) Additionally, Joe helped me immensely with the subcontractors whom I hired. He went above and beyond the call of duty in many instances. You are extremely lucky to have him on your staff.
We would also like to let you know how impressed we were with Mitch. He holds himself to a high standard of work and he, too, was always concerned about our comfort. He is diligent, hard-working, and personable.
We look forward to working with you again in the future.
Very truly yours,
M and C.M.

Dear Murphy Brothers:
The Murphy Brothers have been my contractors on two successive renovations. One in Larchmont and subsequently, when I sold that house in Bedford. The Bedford renovation could not have been larger. It entailed virtually gutting the entire residence.
The Murphy's couldn't have been more responsive or competent. In fact, their structural knowledge in many cases allowed us to function without an architect. You simply said, "I'd like something done," and it was. In addition, at the end of the project when contractors normally disappear onto the next project, they were right there for us.
I couldn't recommend them more highly.
Cordially,
D.A.

Dear Sean,
It is a pleasure to write a letter of reference concerning work with you. J. and I found Murphy Brothers to be efficient, responsive, thorough, clean, and highly professional. Your subcontractors were all good craftsmen, and we were always comfortable having them in our home.
Our overall experience was very positive, and we have highly recommended you to several friends and neighbors who have inquired about Murphy Brothers.
Sincerely,

Dear Sean:
Although your work on our house was actually completed some time ago, this is the first spring we've really been able to enjoy the terrace and addition to the fullest, because of extensive landscaping and so forth that followed your part of the job.
We are constantly reminded of the excellence of the workmanship that your staff and the outside professionals you used provided. From the brick and tile work to the carpentry - windows, skylight, basement remodeling, and so forth - everything was professionally done and continues to please us.
Please feel free to refer any prospective clients to either A. or me for a recommendation.
Thanks again. You, Chris, and Michael made the never-pleasant period of necessary uproar entailed in extensive remodeling as painless as possible.
Sincerely,
M.E.H.
